Dr. Upendra Kaul
Dr. Kaul is Director-Cardiology at Fortis Healthcare flt. Lt. Rajan Dhall Hospital. He is an MD Medicine (1975) and a DM Cardiology (1978) from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. His Post Graduation training in Interventional Cardiology was obtained in Australia under the aegis of the Australian Post Graduate Federation of Medicine in 1983-84. During his long and distinguished career as a Clinician, Researcher and Teacher, Dr. Kaul has held several coveted responsibilities. |
He has been on the faculty of G.B Pant Hospital, New Delhi, PGIMER, Chandigarh and was Professor of Cardiology at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He joins Fortis Healthcare after a very successful innings at Batra Hospital, New Delhi where he held the post of Director, Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology.
Amongst the earliest pioneers in coronary interventions in India, Dr. Kaul introduced several new techniques in this discipline. He is an active member of several professional bodies, has participated in and conducted numerous live interventional cardiology demonstrations at National and International meets. He is on the faculty of several prestigious universities in the USA, Europe, Far East, China and Australia. Dr. Kaul ia a past President of the Cardiological Society of India and is currently the Vice President of the SAARC Cardiac Society. He is the recipient of the Dr. BC Roy Award for 'Developing Specialities' for the year 1999 and has more than 450 publications to his credit.

Dr. Gupta is MBBS (SPMC Bikaner) M.D (PGIMER Chandigarh) and PhD (Community Medicine, SMS, Jaipur). He has over three decades of rich experience in Internal Medicine.
His pioneering cardiovascular epidemiological studies attracted attention of many Indian and international investigators. The Indian Council of Medical Research conferred his team a national award in 1997. He is involved with various Scientific Researches like Epidemiological Research, Genetics and Stem-cell based Research.
He has been involved in many multisite clinical and epidemiological studies such as Women’s Health Project (AIIMS, Delhi), DEMAT Study (AIIMS), POLYCAP Study (St. John’s). He is associated with various committees such as ICMR, DST and MOH and multiple ethics committees.
He collaborates extensively with the University of Rajasthan (Departments of Statistics, Home Science, Botany and Zoology) and more than a dozen students have completed their PhD thesis under his guidance. His previous assignment was as Consultant Physician-Medicine and Preventive Cardiology K D Gupta Medical Centre Jaipur, HOD Medicine & Cardiology and Director Research, Monilek Hospital and Research Centre Jaipur; Professor of Medicine, Mahatma Gandhi National Institute of Medical Sciences Jaipur.
Dr. Gupta has also been publishing a quarterly journal, South Asian Journal of Preventive Cardiology, for the last one decade.

Dr Ashok V Chordiya is presently Director at Fortis Hospital, Noida.
He was born and brought up at Jaipur where he completed his medical education from the prestigious SMS Medical College, starting in the year 1973. After getting an MD in Internal Medicine, he started his medical career in 1983 with the well known Santokba Durlabhji Memorial Hospital at Jaipur where he worked till 1995. |
In April 1995, he shifted to Kota, the industrial capital of Rajasthan, and was actively involved in planning, setting up, recruitment and running of a hospital for JK Synthetics of the Singhania group. He joined Escorts Hospital and Research centre, Faridabad in January 1996 as Consultant Physician and became Medical Superintendent in January 2006.
In January 2007 he was transferred to Fortis Hospital, Mohali as Medical Director, where besides administrative responsibilities he was active in clinical work also and was involved in day to day care in Medical ICU. He subsequently took over as COO of the same Hospital in November 2007 and was transferred to Fortis Noida in February 2009. During this period at Mohali he put up the program for Mother & Child Health (‘Fortis Paalna’), Lifestyle Medicine (‘Clinic Rejuve’), Pain Clinic, reorganized joint replacement program to achieve a new high.
